Turkish Adana Kebab Recipe

  • 500 grams of minced meat (preferably lamb or beef)
  • 2 medium onions, grated

  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 4 lavash or pita bread
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
  1. Place the minced meat in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add grated onions, crushed garlic, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  4. Refrigerate the prepared meat mixture for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the grill or barbecue.
  6. Take portions of the rested meat mixture and tightly mold them onto skewers or metal rods in long, thin shapes.
  7. Place the prepared kebabs on the grill and cook each side for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally.
  8. Once cooked, transfer the kebabs to a serving plate and lightly cover with aluminum foil. Let them rest for a few minutes.
  9. Serve the kebabs wrapped in lavash or pita bread.
  10. Serve alongside lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and lemon wedges on the serving plate.
